Matthew Boeringa's Website

Hello, and welcome to my website. My name is Matthew Boeringa. I graduated from Texas A&M University in May of 2007. My degree will be in Computer Science. I love programming! I currently live and work in the Dallas area.

I am engaged to a wonderful (and wonderfully patient) woman named Mary. She moved to Dallas not too long after I did and we now live together.

I got to visit Mary in Samoa in December of 2006. To hear about my trip, read my journal about the adventure.

Mary and I adopted two furry kitties on April 4th, 2009. They are littermates and they love each other very much. They each have their own unique personality and are warming up to their new home very well. Here are some pictures

One of my hobbies includes traveling, which I have done extensively in western Europe. The easiest way to document my foreign travels is in table format. Mexico has been excluded, although I have been to Mexico City and Ixtapa, as well as border towns.

Other than travel, I like to read books, watch movies, listen to music, play computer games, play board games, program, play tennis, go bowling, play pool, etc.

I also like to cook. For this reason, I decided that it would be fun to include recipes on my website. I have become pretty good at making Cheesecake, and so that is the first recipe I put up. You can find it here. Hopefully I will put more recipes up in the future. If I do, they will get their own index pages. First, I need to get my recipe infrastructure up and running. I want to store them with XML and then convert to HTML so that I can update the style of the recipe pages without modifying each individual recipe. I also want to create a program to put the recipes in XML format for me.

Well, that's me in a nutshell. Hopefully I'll have time to add more content soon!
